About this Project

The Town sponsored the replacement of a collapsed and damaged section of storm piping on 51 Street in Edson, which straddles the east and westbound lanes of the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 16). Due to year-end financial constraints, Option collaborated with The Town to adjust the project scope and find cost saving alternatives to reduce the project budget by $112,000. A further $24,000 of savings were found during construction to assist the Town and successfully deliver the project under budget.

Construction particulars included

  • Project start up activities; contract execution, submittals (ECO/ESC Plan, TAS, Schedule, Shop Drawings), and procurement
  • Traffic accommodation measures addressing heavy volume traffic on Hwy 16
  • New storm sewer installation of 600mm CL4 (96m), 1500mm manholes (2), 900mm catch basins (3) and connection leads to the existing infrastructure
