About this Project
Saddle Hills County sponsored this contract, in conjunction with multiple neighbouring municipalities, taking a substantial step forward in creating a reliable long-term regional water system. This portion of the project saw the traversing of the Dunvegan Creek valley slope (190m vertical elevation) with steel and HDPE water lines and accompanying mechanical installations.
Construction particulars included
- Project start up activities; contract execution, submittals (ECO/ESC and CoW Plans, TAS, Schedule, Shop Drawings), stagged procurement
- HDD installation of 1.8km 400mm steel waterline, with an additional 45m of open cut installation
- Open cut installation of 866m of 500mm HDPE waterline
- Installation of 400mm pigging chambers (2), 500mm pig launch, and 500mm direct bury gate valve
- Each project end was prepared for a future phases of construction
- Roadway and landscape restoration
